Korkeakoulujen strategisen johdon seminaari

Tutkinto valmiiksi ja töihin - koordinoiva projekti järjesti 25.5. Helsingissä seminaarin, jossa oli tarkoituksena saada aikaan keskusteluyhteys korkeakoulujen strategisen johdon ja korkeakouluissa toimivien kehittämishankkeiden välille. Erityisesti haettiin yhteistä ymmärrystä siitä, kuinka yhteneviä hanketoiminnan ja korkeakoulujen strategiset tulostavoitteet itse asiassa ovat.
Valtista tähän päättäjäseminaariin osallistuivat projektipäällikkö Kaisa ja avainohjaaja Jaana. Avauspuheenvuorojen jälkeen jakaannuimme työpajoihin, joten meillä oli edustus kahdessa työpajassa kolmesta. Kaisa oli työpajassa 1 (Mitkä ovat tehokkaimpia tapoja edistää viivästyneiden tutkintojen loppuunsaattamista?) ja Jaana työpajassa 3 (Opiskelijoiden työllistyminen tullee yhdeksi tulosindikaattoriksi – miten työllistymistä tulisi mitata ja kuinka sitä voidaan tukea?).
Saimme siis esitettyä hankkeen tuloksia (palautetta ja rahaa…) kahdelle kuulijakunnalle. Kummassakin työpajassa Valtti herätti kiinnostusta ja kysymyksiä sateli: mitä ryhmiä, kuinka pitkiä, kuka veti, yms. Työpajoissa välitön palaute oli, että hyvä kun puhutaan myös rahasta! Onhan tietysti niin, että on hankkeita, joiden on tosi vaikea mitata toimintaa rahassa ja aina voidaan spekuloida mikä on ryhmän todellinen vaikutus. Myönnämme itsekin, että osa toimenpiteissä olleista olisi ehkä valmistunut muutenkin.. Joskus.. Osa taas ei. Laadullinen palaute tukee meidän käsitystämme ryhmän positiivisesta vaikutuksesta valmistumiseen ja työllistymiseen: jos opiskelija itse sanoo, ettei olisi valmistunut ilman ryhmä tukea, niin mitä me ollaan väittämään vastaan :)
Työllistymistä käsittelevässä työpajassa puheenjohtaja antoi esittelyille kunnolla aikaa. Hän totesi, että ei olisi voitu käsitellä teemaa, jos ei olisi ensin kunnolla puhuttu hankkeista ja niiden toimista ja vaikutuksista. Rahasta puhuen hän totesi, että meidän käyttämä voitto-sana (raha, joka saadaan hanketoiminnan kautta valmistuvista opiskelijoista) ei oikeasti ole korkeakoululle voittoa vaan estettyä tappiota...
Emme saaneet aikaiseksi työllistymisen mittareita, vaan enemmän puhuttiin korkeakoulujen näkyvyydestä työmaailmaan, ja pohdimme yhden luukun periaatetta. Olisi siis yksi paikka, toimisto, taho, joka olisi korkeakoulut naama työnantajiin päin, opiskelijoihin ja miksei henkilökuntaan työllistymis-, harjoittelupaikka- jne. asioissa. Päädyimme tosin siihen, että ei riitä, että joka korkeakoululla on oma luukkunsa, vaan sen pitäisi olla vähintään alueellinen.
Loppukeskusteluissa tuli esille muutamia tärkeitä asioita:
- johto ei välttämättä tiedä korkeakoulujensa hankkeista mitään! - meidän pitää mennä johdon puheille esittelemään tuloksia ja suositusehdotuksia (Vamk ja Oamk ovat tämän tyyppistä jo tehneet)
- tulokset euroina ja tieto hallitukselle asti!
- kehittämisprojektien pitäisi lähteä opiskelijoiden ja korkeakoulujen tarpeista käsin, ei OKM:n
